We had a visitor from Brazil yesterday, who stayed the night and participated in a special ceremony this morning (October 23rd, I’m late posting) . Actually we thought there would be three people coming on Sunday, but they stopped at the Otavalo market and had such a good time shopping and looking around that they did not make it that day. This woman arrived yesterday afternoon while we were out for a walk, so I did not meet her until this morning.

While I was sitting in my favourite morning spot absorbing the energy of the day, Oscar came to set up the circle for the healing. I was able to watch as he made his preparations which were quite involved.

He brought out many items, most of which I could not see from so high up, but I did see the amazing condor feathers, incredibley long, giving one the idea of the size of the bird. I do hope I see one while I’m here. I will put a short clip/s on facebook of him playing the condor whistle which is just the feather. Truly beautiful!

It is unfortunate I could not get a closer image, but this is Oscar playing the condor feather.

There was a bit of anticipation for the woman preparing to enter the circle and have her healing begin. She reminded me of myself a little and so while she was waiting, I invited her to join me on the balcony to have a higher view of the proceedings. She nervously accepted.

Her English was not really good, but we managed to have a small convesation be she got called to join him in the circle. I agreed to film the ceremony with her phone, but in the end she felt it would be better if Oscar’s assistant/partner took it from the circle. I was glad that she did not mind us watching and actually Patrick filmed it for her as well in case her phone died during the event. I was curious about what would happen and for me it is always positive to see new healing techniques. I have gratefully accepted many different healings on the road to recovering my past.

It was truly amazing, this ceremony, as I watched from upstairs getting a bit of a birds eye view. She stood on eucalyptus leaves in front of him while he worked around her going in a clockwise circle many times. Each time he circled her he was using different elements, which I could not define from up here, but it was really fascinating to watch. One of the things that really surprised me was when he used tuning forks as part of the healing. This was very exciting for me because I have had healings done using the full scope of tuning forks, and it is an amazing way to clear the energy in your body. Sherry, the woman at Nirvana in Medicine Hat uses the sound in much the same way as an acupuncturist uses needles. Each sound has a frequency and carries healing energy. Oscar only had one set of forks (I think), but he used them well. He connected the sound with water, activating the forks and then putting them in the water which he would also use in the healing process. It was very beautiful. There was power in his actions and I could feel the strength of spirit and the deep intention of healing her spirit.

When it was all done, taking 30-45 minutes I think, she looked quite tired. They talked for awhile and then when she was ready, she came and sat with me again. She wondered how it went from my perspective and then shared a bit about how she felt. It was as much a learning experience, the healing a bonus, but I thought at that moment, she didn’t fully realize the depth of her gift just yet. I asked her about the tuning forks and she said that they was a surprise, she didn’t know about them or how they worked. She was pleasantly surprised at the amount of energy she felt go into her body wherever he touched her with them. She said it was very strong. I understood, as I have felt this sensation and it made me so happy to hear her speak about it.

She was travelling to Cotacatchi shortly, so our visit was not a long one, but we now have a friend in Brazil, who invited us to visit and enjoy the beauty of her home. I think that is wonderful!!!
