Author’s note;

I believe when we take pictures, at the time we are unaware of the great importance they may hold one day. By this I mean, that at the time these pictures were taken I would never have guessed I would be shut out from the lives of my children and their children. The value of these images is undeniable bringing back the many beautiful moments we all shared.

  Our first isit from Patrick’s parents. I could not move my arm to lift Lucas, the pain was great. I did not want them to know, so I just kept smiling.

  We are home now and still recovering, Lucas’ face still marked and bruised from the delivery. It was a great relief to be able to sit here counting my blessings

 Our first outing one week later, visiting Ware Creek, Alberta. This was always my favourite thing to do for my birthday, to be in the country surrounded by all the color.

  Patrick with his only child, a very proud papa

Rheann with Lucas, her motherly instincts kicking in immediately.

  Josh and Colby getting to know their brother. A beautiful moment in time…..

               Colby and Lucas sharing time together. They had so many good times together, Colby’s great imagination sparking many adventures.

   Lucas about a month old, and the panda – they are almost the same size….

Josh and his little brother. Lucas came to admire his oldest brother; his idol.

  Patrick’s sister Renee visiting with Lucas. This would have been close to Christmas when she came home from Africa for a visit. (He had a fascination with teeth…)
