In the one month we have been here much has happened at least in the animal kingdom. Chillape (not sure if I am spelling that right) got pregnant with 2 litters at the same time, or almost. Little Scott is now over two months old while the other puppies are now just over one moth old.
There is my little amigo Scott who has taken up residence in one of my suitcases. He drags my socks and shoes into the case and then crawls in there to sleep. At first I would hall everything back out, but realized it was hopeless so leave them there until I need them. At least this way I know where everything is…..
This is the female from the second litter showing Scott that this is a MeToo world and she don’t take no guff!!!
Here she is just watching the action.
Scott decided to go after the male doing his best to be the King of the Hill. The big guy standing guard is Scrappy, papa to Scott. He is a very beautiful and lovely dog, gentle personality, and has adopted us. He follows us every time we go anywhere on foot, which totally thrills him. We gave up trying to stop him, because when we would take him back, he would only sneak out a different way. He races by us like a bullet enjoying the freedom I’m sure.
I seem to be a puppy magnet as they have all taken up fairly permanent residence on my doorstep.
Poor Mama is getting tired of the feeding and gets mad at them. She leaves them here and goes back to the family home to get a break. That is Mali’s cage turned on it’s side which has become their home away from home. Chillape is a very good mom, just a tired one. She also hides under my bed when she wants a break.
This guy is a jellyrole with legs. OMG he is so cute, a gentle giant. When things get heated he comes and hides at my feet wherever I am. I can’t remember the names of the puppies, but this guy reminds me of Mr. Magoo (Hawk) our American Eskimo.

This chicken has had her chicks, and aren’t they adorable? We always get to watch them when we have our meal, just little fuzz balls.
5 in total.
The one lost duck has turned into three, a representative from Canada. Being one of them.
And it seems to e butterfly season, I suppose because of all the moisture we are seeing so many. Sometimes as you walk down the road you are surrounded by several different kinds.
Every once in awhile I get lucky and am able to get a picture of them with wings open. They are so beautiful.
The trumpet flowers are in full bloom, the smell in the evening is almost over powering when I open my door and step outside. Their scent comes out at night which I didn’t know before I came here so I thought I was smelling someone’s perfume. Kind of funny when you realize no one here wears perfume….
Just another rainy Sunday in beautiful Ecuador……..
