I began this blog 8 years ago as I prepared for the adventure of my life…..going to Ecuador where I planned to live. Selling everything, well almost everything, I gathered up my courage and took a leap of faith.

That leap taught me who I was at my core, teaching me so many valuable lessons which would never have been discovered had I stayed in the shadow of my life I was taught was my place. This blog became the voice I could not find otherwise. It helped me find value in myself and the incredible journey I found myself on. How could I not be grateful for this?

My life in Ecuador did not turn out as I’d hoped, but then this is true for most people on most adventures. We learn from what we perceived as most important by accepting the lesson we least wanted to learn. This has been the story of my life actually. Always letting go. Always saying goodbye and always dealing with the sadness of so much loss and abandonment. Today is no different as I say my goodbyes to this blog. Of course the gifts it provided will remain with me always but I will miss having this outlet to express so many things otherwise forced to keep quiet on.

Sometimes in helping others we forget we also need looking after. As a mother (a lifetime ago) one learned if you did not care for yourself you could not be there for your family when they needed you. Still this lesson was never really properly learned by me as I continue to give without taking enough care of myself. Despite my helping someone over the last 2 years at my own expense, many  small timely unexpected gifts would carry me through certain situations. However, it has just gone on too long and it seems I can’t be saved this time for this situation. The fees to keep this blog going exceed my ability to pay them. There are much more urgent matters which need my focused attention now. Our lives are written in the stars and while there is some flexibility we do not have the final say in when we leave this planet and must accept this. I thought my time was up 6 years ago, but was saved by caring people here who were keeping an eye on me. This time I’m keeping my own council and accept the consequences.

There is so much gratitude for the almost 8,000 subscribers who joined me for one or more of my stories as I discovered my voice and the importance of sharing it.  Of course I understand there were not that many who remained throughout the years, but still it is remarkable to me so many people found enough value in my stories to subscribe. I never dreamed when I started this there would be so many, as it began as a means to remain in contact with friends here in Canada.

Today I close the door, with this final post, for this leg of my journey and wonder what will come next. The adventure continues……
