It has been 3 weeks of no outside communication with the exception of a few visits from Charles, my friend here. This morning Susi’s husband delivered a charging cable for me to use, a nice surprise. But now that I’m back online, I am finding the electronic world a bit overwhelming.

During these past 3 weeks I wrote each day to keep track of the days, which I suppose sounds strange, but the days just kind of blend together. I didn’t know what time it was other than sunrise and sunset, so the days become kind of unimportant without the usual daily tasks to remind you of a calendar.

I am not going to write anything today because it all feels “too much” right now. The journal kept over the weeks had another purpose – that of posting my feelings and experiences when I could do so.
I hope everyone is doing well, with this virus continuing to hold us in its grasp, I know it is hard on many. In Ecuador we do not expect the quarantine to end until at least June. But I have my doubts as they cannot risk having a second wave. Many are having difficulty providing for their families and my friend Susi is unable to buy the medicine needed for her daughter which comes from Canada. She has been unable to work, so this means she does not have the money. Charles and I will try to pull together what she needs for this month.

I will try to post again tomorrow beginning with the posts I wrote (by hand – yikes) but for now I must walk away from the electronic world….
